A VISION 55 YEARS IN THE MAKING

The Montecito Family YMCA first served our local community on East Valley Road starting in 1957. Since then, the Y has continued to support and unite men, women, and children of all ages, faiths, backgrounds, abilities, and income levels.
By the generosity of the Montecito community in 2006, the YMCA was able to purchase the land it currently uses to operate, on the corner of Santa Rosa and San Ysidro Road. Focusing on youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility, the Montecito Family YMCA has always sought to fill the gaps in community services and strengthen our community.

THE FIRST CAPITAL CAMPAIGN - 1965
Recognizing the ‘enduring value’ of the Y, the Montecito Y embarked on its first major capital campaign. Working with community leaders and dedicated members, the successful campaign allowed Montecito Y to move to its current location in order to offer better “learning and character-building opportunities” for local youth.
